What exactly is The Porch Edit?

We design, source and install bespoke seasonal arrangements at your front door — using heritage pumpkins, dried botanicals, natural foliage and considered props. We handle everything; you simply arrive home to a transformed entrance.

Do I need to be home for the installation?

Accepted Answer

No. We just need clear access to your front entrance. Most clients are out when we arrive. We'll confirm the installation window with you in advance and send a photo once we're done.

Question 3

How long does an installation take?

Accepted Answer

Most installations take between one and two hours depending on the package and the complexity of your entrance. Grand and Bespoke installations may take a little longer.

Question 4

Can I request a specific installation date?

Accepted Answer

Yes — we'll discuss your preferred date during the consultation process. We install throughout October, with the busiest period being the week leading up to the 31st. We recommend enquiring early to secure your preferred slot.

Question 5

Do you work with commercial properties or just residential?

Accepted Answer

We do take on select commercial projects — boutique hotels, restaurants and private members' clubs. Please mention this in your enquiry and we'll discuss what's possible.

What are the three design styles?

We offer Natural Harvest (heritage pumpkins, dried botanicals, warm earthy tones), Neutral Luxe (pale pumpkins, soft greens, sculptural elegance) and Classic Halloween (richer autumn tones with tasteful Halloween character). Each can be adapted to suit your property and preferences.

Can I mix elements from different styles?

Absolutely. Our Bespoke package is designed exactly for this — a fully custom design built around your vision. Even within Signature and Grand, we'll always tailor the arrangement to your property and preferences during the consultation.

Will my installation look like the images on the website?

Accepted Answer

The images on our site are concept references — for inspiration only. Every installation is designed specifically for your property, entrance dimensions and chosen style. We never replicate the same arrangement twice.

Question 9

Do you use any plastic props or novelty decorations?

Accepted Answer

Never. We work exclusively with natural, seasonal and artisan materials — heritage pumpkins, dried botanicals, foliage, lanterns and considered props. Nothing plastic, nothing novelty.

What's included in each package?

Accepted Answer

All packages include on-site installation and collection. Signature covers a curated front-door arrangement. Grand extends across your steps and porch. Bespoke includes a pre-installation design consultation and fully custom sourcing. Full details are on the deposit page.

Question 11

How does the deposit work?

Accepted Answer

A holding deposit reserves your installation date and is credited in full toward your final balance — there's no extra charge. The deposit is refundable if we're unable to fulfil your booking for any reason.

Question 12

When is the remaining balance due?

The balance is due seven days before your installation date. We'll send an invoice with payment details once your date is confirmed.

Question 13

Can I upgrade my package after booking?

Accepted Answer

Yes, subject to availability. Contact us as early as possible and we'll do our best to accommodate the change.

Question 14

How long will the pumpkins last?

Accepted Answer

Uncarved pumpkins typically last three to four weeks outdoors in October conditions. Carved pumpkins have a shorter lifespan of around five to seven days. We'll advise on care during the consultation to help you get the most from your arrangement.

What if it rains?

Accepted Answer

Our arrangements are designed for outdoor use and will withstand typical British October weather. Heavy or sustained rain may accelerate natural deterioration, but the arrangement will remain presentable throughout the season.

Question 16

Do I need to do anything to maintain the arrangement?

Accepted Answer

Very little. We recommend keeping carved pumpkins out of direct sunlight and bringing them inside overnight if temperatures drop below freezing. We'll share a simple care guide after installation.

Question 17

Do you collect the installation afterwards?

Accepted Answer

Yes — collection is included in all packages. We return after Halloween to remove the arrangement cleanly, leaving your entrance exactly as we found it.

When do you collect?

We collect in the days immediately following Halloween, typically between 1st and 5th November. We'll confirm the collection window with you in advance.

Question 19

Do I need to be home for collection?

Accepted Answer

No — the same as installation, we just need access to your entrance. We'll let you know once collection is complete.

Question 20

What happens to the pumpkins after collection?

Accepted Answer

All collected pumpkins and organic material are sent to an anaerobic digestion facility where food waste is converted into renewable energy. Nothing goes to landfill.

Which areas of London do you cover?

Accepted Answer

We currently serve central and inner London, including Chelsea, Kensington, Notting Hill, Belgravia, Marylebone, Islington, Hampstead, Richmond and surrounding areas. If you're unsure whether we cover your postcode, include it in your enquiry and we'll confirm.

Do you travel outside London?

On a case-by-case basis for Grand and Bespoke packages. A travel supplement applies for locations outside our standard service area. Please mention your location in your enquiry.
